Our new publishing schedule

The first thing you should know is that we care. We read our emails and comments and we consider the kind words of advice from our readers on how we might improve the new site. The single biggest issue that we’ve been getting feedback on is the number of updates email subscribers are receiving, sometimes as many as one a day. Although this kind of frequency isn’t that odd for sites like Crikey and New Matilda, it is a significant increase over the old Art Life which managed maybe one a week. We thought you’d like to be emailed about art news and openings info but it seems many find the imposition of getting so much free content on a daily basis to be both upsetting and inconvenient.

And so…

The second thing to know is that we have devised a new publishing schedule. We will publish three times a week. On Monday we’ll post stories on major new shows of interest – Biennales, the Sydney Film Festival and so on. On Thursday we’ll publish a digest of the week’s Australian and international art news purloined from the finest news sources available [and not hidden behind pay walls]. And on Friday we’ll publish our regular updates including reviews, opinion pieces, humor, satire, gallery ads and so on. That’s three times a week, twice a week if there isn’t something big happening. Of course, we’ll also occasionally update when important news breaks.
