New Work Friday #109

New Work Jun 01, 2012 1 Comment

“My paintings explore the landscape, memory, transience and the ephemeral nature of vision and illusion. Light, space and movement are the focus of these new works, many incorporating iridescent pigments that give the paintings a mirage like quality as they change in the light. My studio, near the Brisbane River, is strewn with photographs, drawings and scientific images of cloud formations. These become reference points when I paint: they are markers and visual guides as I aim to conjure my own imagined worlds in which there is a sense of unfolding time, of transformation and flux.” – Anita Hochman.
