Out They Go

…And so it seems the rumoured close of contemporary art stalwart Barry Keldoulis‘s gallery is now confirmed. Although there’s been no official word on why this much loved space is closing, the gallery’s final slate of exhibitions are being rolled out, including a much-anticipated show by Dara Gill opening on the 12th of September, and a series of four day shows by gallery artists.Deborah Kelly‘s exhibition opens tomorrow [Wednesday] night. Writes Kelly:

Last Hurrah! My final little show, Abide With Me, will be held this week. It contains a number of new collage works, (including the Magdalenes, a pair of two meter tall analogue collaged figures) and a selection from the major portrait series, The Miracles, commissioned for the recent GOMA Contemporary Australia survey and developed over four years. We will also show Beastliness, the 2011 collage animation which has been curated into galleries and cinemas in Sao Paulo, Prague, Saint Petersburg, Kansas City, Zagreb, Seoul, Brisbane, Adelaide, Claremont-Ferrand, Timisoara, Jakarta and Cologne. …and a small array of tiny lightboxes.
