New Work Friday #116

New Work Jul 27, 2012 No Comments

“In this series of paintings I have referenced found imagery and collage to explore notions of materiality and absence. Many of the figures are partly covered with crystals suggesting primitive adornment or masking. The appearance is not merely decorative but hints at a more sinister world of dreams and subconscious desire. The work explores psychological fragmentation, fractured memory and notions of therapy” – Heidi Yardley. Melbourne Art Fair, August 1 –5, Jan Murphy Gallery, Stand C44.
