My new work Signauxß is opening next week on Wednesday the 26th at Firstdraft. Come along and see the performance on opening night!
Signauxß is an audio/video performance based around a prepared instrument for a multichannel audio/video composition. The instrument is called the “Video Harp”. The synaesthetic stringed “switching” device allows the performer to mix layers of audio and video through performative gesture. The crude and stripped back electronics embrace broken, augmented and tormented signals, inviting audio/video noise and glitched outcomes. The work discusses the ethereal qualities of electronic signal transmission and the concept of ‘machine vision’.
