Two artists, five locations, one thousand bricks, five days.

Michaela Gleave and Kate Mitchell: ‘Wall Work’

Presented as part of the 2010 Next Wave Festival, ‘Wall Work’ is a five-day performance in which Michaela Gleave and Kate Mitchell will build and then dismantle a brick wall, brick by brick, everyday over five consecutive days. Occupying public and pedestrian zones within Melbourne’s CBD the project proposes an intervention within the urban environment, blurring the lines between art and labour and altering the public’s use and perception of this landscape.
