HAWKESBURY ONE: CITIZEN COLLECTORS
We warmly invite you to the opening of the Hawkesbury One Collection at the Newcastle Region Art Gallery, Laman Street, Newcastle on Saturday, June 18 at 2.30pm.
We are “Citizen Collectors”: a group of friends from Sydney and Newcastle who collect contemporary Australian art from the first decade of the 21st century.
We believe we are the first “Citizen Collectors” to show at a major Australian public art gallery, and so would love to see you there.
There has been some media coverage of the group already – you may have seen us on the cover of Spectrum in the Sydney Morning Herald (see SMH Article Collective Vision) – but this is an opportunity to see the works in the flesh and to find out more about the group and the idea of “Citizen Collectors”.
