This Friday [September 21] there will be a memorial service for the late, great Robert Hughes. Among the speakers will be Hughes’s brother Hon. Tom Hughes AO QC, his niece Lucy Hughes-Turnbull AO, former director of the Art Gallery of NSW Edmund Capon and professional eugooglizer Charles “Chiller” Waterstreet.

A memorial service for art critic and writer Robert Hughes is being held at 10.30 am on Friday, September 21 at the Art Gallery of NSW. Robert Hughes died in New York on August 7. He was 74. An eloquent critic and historian who wrote with clarity and authority, Hughes is remembered as a powerful Australian character whose reputation boosted the place of Australian art internationally.
The service is open to the public but you’ll need to register online first.
