Lucas Davidson’s exhibition limbo explores the intermediate space between photography and video. Through acts of separating photographic emulsion from its paper backing, the final works document images of the artist’s body as it circulates, drips and floats in water. Over time, Davidson’s images distort the subject and blur the line between the defined and undefined image. By recognising the ambiguous and intangible nature of the human condition and exploring this through his chosen medium, Davidson’s intention is to remind viewers of their own life and mortality, placing emphasis on ‘change’ as the only constant in our lives. Lucas Davidson, limbo, at Dominik Mersch Gallery, until 20th of June 2013.”
