“My paintings explore familiar places in the suburban landscape, such as car parks, caravan sites and disused leisure facilities. This current series of works highlights the juxtaposition between diminished nature and the suburban lifestyle. These works also explore the ongoing relationship between man and the natural environment. These paintings acknowledge human efforts to reshape the natural Australian landscape and the way ideas & beliefs impact on how we perceive the landscape in context to Western art history” – Kieran McInnes
