“Using the phenomenon of a ‘Murmuration of Starlings’ as a starting point, each painting captures a frozen moment and a seemingly limitless composition that will never recur in the same way. The overwhelming and epic display of starlings in flight call to mind ideas of flux, relativity and impermanence. The paintings embark from this point and explore movement, space and colour – an act which in itself records a fleeting moment in time – Marisa Purcell.
