“FACET, an opportunity to try whatever pops into the mind …without considering the implications …A process igniting freedom to work across diverse surfaces and materials… It harnesses surprise…. FACET is the result of thinking through ideas and playing with materials. Working with paper brings a spirit of experimentation. Small works happen simultaneously with larger works on linen – they feed each other. Going between paper and large paintings ensures cross pollination. The two modes of practice inform each other and intimately relate, whilst also maintaining their own essence. These elements eventually weave themselves through to the larger works on linen, which can be seen in part b of this exhibition, showing at Olsen in February 2017” – Marisa Purcel.
