“UnNatural Light explores the issues around our sense of self – our identity. This exhibition asks how do we define ourselves and to what extent do we leave ourselves open to interpretation and manipulation? How much of our identity is purchased through our ‘off the shelf’ consumerist lifestyle and how do we know our true self? In fact in our contemporary world is there room for a single truth or must we accept we are made up of multiples truths and multiple identities? Put simply, if society is now ‘all about me’, which ‘me’ are they referring to?” – Vivian Cooper Smith.
UnNatural Light, 22 July – 10 July 2011, c3 Contemporary Art Space
