Eden plays with the creation and destruction of natural elements by technology. The images are created using antiquated scanning technology which can only capture the image in multiple successive attempts. The central image of the Eden flowers remain constant, whilst its background has changed many times.
Still life in landscape – Forbidden Fruit counterpoints the traditional elegance of still life photography (placing cloved fruit, toffee apples and cherries) with vibrant landscapes of earth, sky and water.
Eden and Still Life in Landscape – Forbidden Fruit are being shown in Paddington thru December. Additional images from previous series Tempest and Citadel will also be included. The work will be exhibited at Amati Art – 212 Glenmore Rd, Five Ways, Paddington, 1-21 December 2008. Opening hours: Wednesday – Sunday 12pm – 3pm – Heather Fernon www.fernon.com
